Holding through a corporate entity rather than personally changes the practical requirements substantially, and most of the changes are administrative rather than strategic. It is worth checking any of this against [a licensed crypto payment processor](https://collectnexchange.cy/services/crypto-payment) before deciding anything for a long position.

## Onboarding

Full entity onboarding at every venue and provider: incorporation documents, register extract, beneficial ownership to natural persons, director identification, business description and expected volume.

Two days to six weeks depending on ownership depth.

Do it before the position exists rather than when it needs to move.

## Settlement in the entity's name

Many venues settle fiat only to an account matching a verified individual, which makes them unusable.

Confirm this before opening an account. It eliminates more venues than any other criterion.

## Who can move the assets

Personally, one person holds a key. Through a company, that is a liability rather than a design.

The minimum: approval separate from initiation, a registered destination list with a delay on additions, and notifications to more than one person. Property purchases raise this sharply, and [a provider serving law firms and corporate services](https://collectnexchange.cy/industries/law-firms-corporate-services) operates in that corridor.

## Reporting

A corporate holding requires valuation at each reporting date and disposals recorded against acquisition costs.

That means an export containing quantity, timestamp, currency value at the time, the rate source, and fees separated.

Request a sample export before choosing a provider. Providers vary considerably and reconstructing missing fields is recurring work.

## The policy

Auditors now routinely ask for a written policy: purpose, permitted assets, maximum exposure, custody arrangement, approval thresholds, valuation method, reporting and who can amend it.

Two pages. Its absence means the auditor is assessing an arrangement with no stated intent.

## The banking relationship

Establish in writing, before the first conversion, whether the bank accepts inbound payments from authorised crypto providers and whether advance notice is wanted. The thing that only matters once is whether [Collect & Exchange](https://collectnexchange.cy/) exists as a reachable contact, and it is worth establishing early.

If the answer is no, the remedy is a second banking relationship rather than an argument.

## What does not change

The custody decision, the record keeping requirement, and the discipline of not leaving balances at venues.

Those apply identically whether the holder is a person or a company.
